WWW.DESIGNSBYJUJU.COM APPLIQUE INSTRUCTIONS For a full color applique photo tutorial visit: http://www.designsbyjuju.com/applique.aspx For accurate results, it is very important to stitch your designs in the order in which the colorcharts specify. **THESE ARE APPLIQUE POCKETS. THEREFORE, YOUR APPLIQUE FABRIC MUST BE FOLDED IN HALF AND LARGE ENOUGH (ONCE FOLDED IN HALF) TO COVER THE ENTIRE APPLIQUE AREA. FOLD YOUR FABRIC IN HALF AND PRESS WELL. IF DESIRED, TOPSTITCH 1/8 EDGE FROM THE FOLDED EDGE FOR A NICE FINISHED LOOK **you can also sew on a cuff if you choose. :) SMALL HORIZONTAL GUIDELINES HAVE BEEN PLACED ON EACH APPLIQUE PLACEMENT LINE. LAY DOWN YOUR APPLIQUE FABRIC WITH THE FOLDED EDGE VERY SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE HORIZONTAL GUIDELINES (APPROX A COUPLE OF MM). THE TACKDOWN STITCHING WILL SEW THE SIDES AND BOTTOM OF THE POCKET DOWN, LEAVING THE TOP UNSTITCHED AND HENCE, A FUNCTIONAL POCKET. 1.For the placement color, choose a light color..this will stitch a running stitch placement line for your fabric. 2. Cut a piece of fabric big enough to cover the placement area. Spray lightly with a spray adhesive such as Sulky KK 2200 Place fabric gently over placement line....do NOT remove the hoop!!!! 3) stitch next color, noted as "tack down" on the color chart. this is an identical running stitch to the placement line and will stitch down your applique fabric 4) remove hoop from machine. do NOT unhoop fabric!!!! Using very good pair of curved blade scissors, trim excess fabric as close as possible to stitching. Replace hoop on machine. REPEAT STEPS 1-4 FOR MULTIPLE FABRICS 5) continue to stitch the remainder of your design. Enjoy!!!!
